Tinubu’s reaction to Oyetola’s loss fake – APC chieftain

APC leader: Tinubu's response to Oyetola's defeat was insincere

Bola Tinubu

Elton Onwu, a senior member of the All Progressive Congress, lambasted opponents on Monday for attributing Bola Tinubu's defeatist remarks following the results of the Osun State governorship election to the APC.

In the early hours of Sunday, a message went viral that cited Tinubu as saying he wouldn't dwell on his defeats but would instead rethink his strategy for the general elections of 2023.

I don't linger on my losses, the statement said. I analyze my errors, draw conclusions, and plan forward to increase my chances of winning the next conflict.

Onwu, a member of the 2019 APC Presidential Campaign Council, responded to the viral tweet by claiming authorship of the phrase.

He claims that the article was taken off his page by unidentified individuals, posted on various social networking sites, and then printed online by publications.

Onwu chastised social media users, including some APC members, for believing the story attributed to Tinubu when it was clear that the party had not yet taken a position on the election's conclusion.

"I uploaded it as a party man to give my own perspective and to inspire our throngs of fans who felt discouraged by the election's result, some of whom worried that the result was a sign of what awaits the party in the general elections next year," he said.

"As a crucial member of the party, I felt compelled to spread the message of encouragement to the people that losing one contest doesn't reveal your true strength; rather, it helps you recognize your weaknesses and how to strengthen yourself to prevent similar outcomes in the future.

The APC has a reputation for success. We cannot let one setback undermine our spirits. The message is this. The APC will demonstrate to the world how elections should be won democratically next year with Tinubu.

Call off your strike to allow us address your demands- Bauchi HoS urges striking staff  Bauchi state government on Wednesday pleaded with the striking academic and non academic staff unions in five tertiary institutions in the state to as a matter of urgency call off their ongoing strike for government to resolve their demands immediately.  State's Head of Civil Service, Yahuza Adamu Haruna at a press briefing held at Government House, Bauchi expressed concern for the inability of the striking staff to allow the state government address their issues rather than embarking on the strike.  He stated that, calling off the strike will enable the state government to continue with the negotiations with the leadership of the Joint Acton Committee (JAC) of the unions for possible resolving their demands raised once and for all.  "We are surprised by the strike embarked upon by the JAC members despite knowing the efforts of the State Government to resolve their demands, ...
